Affordable Skincare with Versed

I first came across Versed early 2020 and after doing a little research on the brand I saw that they’ve banned the use of over 1,300 toxins to ensure that their products are safe for both our bodies and the planet. The main points that stood out to me when looking them up

were that not only are they vegan and cruelty-free, they don’t add artificial fragrances into their products which is amazing!

I originally started with their Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm and loved it so much that I decided to try some other products.

Day Dissolve Cleansing balm

Double cleansing is a must, regardless of your skin type. Your first cleanse can be done with a balm or oil. Cleansing twice ensures that the first layer of sebum, sunscreen, make-up and any bacteria in the deeper layers of our pores are removed. The ideal cleanser should be sulphate-free which will avoid stripping the skin of its natural oils and you must remember that it is important not to rub the skin too harshly.

I had a go-to cleansing balm which was unfortunately discontinued and when that finished, I came across the Versed Day Dissolve Cleansing Balm. I thought it was worth a try and I have to say that it was a good buy. This is one of the nicest cleansing balms, it has a nice smell which is not an overly strong fragrance which is not artificial but actually comes from the eucalyptus and clove leaf oil.

The texture is quite light and melts down easy with the warmth of your hands which makes it easy to spread over the skin without having to rub too harshly. A tiny amount of this product is all you need to effectively use of the face and neck area. The only difference between this cleansing balm and other cleansing balms is that adding a little water when it is on the face helps get the most out of the product.

Overall, I do love the cleansing balm, it doesn’t leave any oily residue on the skin after using it. It is available in two sizes, a mini and full size, the mini is great to buy if trying for the first time and to take when you travel.

Sunday Morning Antioxidant Oil-Serum

This is the first oil-serum I have used, and I can’t believe that I didn’t use it sooner, I’m obsessed!

When Versed said “use it you want all of the glow, but none of the grease” they weren’t kidding. This hybrid really does deliver the best of both worlds, just shake the bottle and watch the two phases, water and oil, mix up.

Its oil-phase contains camellia oil and sea buckthorn extract which is said to help reduce redness whilst strengthening the skin’s barrier and preventing moisture loss. Meanwhile the water phase helps keep the skin hydrated with the use of chamomile extract and vitamin E.

This product is so versatile, you can use under, over or in place of your moisturiser. This has become a staple in my skincare routine, I personally use it as my last serum before moisturising and it has done wonders for my skin so far.

Just Breathe Clarifying Serum

The Just Breathe Clarifying Serum is designed to clear acne and manage excess pore-clogging sebum. Made with a trio of bark extract, niacinamide and zinc it should help to calm inflammation, reduce the appearance of large pores and soothe any redness.

It is clear and lightweight, and it has quite a watery texture and goes onto the skin like water but does soak in quite well. The serum doesn’t have a strong scent to it as it is fragrance free, which I love as artificial fragrance can irritate the skin.

Overall, this serum has an affordable price point, sleek and simple packaging (which I really enjoy!) and a great fragrance-free formula, the only thing that bothers me is that you don’t really know how much niacinamide and zinc have been used as its not stated anywhere. You also don’t see immediate results so expect to use it for a while before seeing any improvements to your skin.

Skin Soak Rich Moisturiser

Everyone needs to moisturise, yes even those with oily skin. The Skin Soak Rich Moisture Cream has a smooth dreamy texture which is lovely when massaging into the skin. It is rich but still leaves a nice feel to the skin without any grease.

The cream is formulated with Algae extract, Vitamin E and Squalene, it is said to ‘keep the skin nourished and hydrated while fending off signs of aging’. It works as a daily and nightly moisturiser for those with normal to dry skin and as a night cream if for those with combination to oily skin.

In my opinion it is a good hydrating cream and still sits well under sunscreen however, I am not completely sold on whether it helps with anti-aging I am hoping to see results of this in the future.

Overall, Versed is an amazing skincare brand. The values behind the brand and their level of sustainability are incredible. I will definitely be trying more of their products in the near future.
